Day 15

Create a tasteful water-wise diet

Milk alternatives
Fall season foods

Create a water-wise diet by innovating your meals with ingredients that have low water footprints.

Agriculture accounts for over 70% of water use, both in the state of Arizona and on a global scale. Effective ways to reduce your water footprint is by eating seasonally, shopping at your local farmer’s market, and incorporating drought-tolerant foods into your meals.

Substitute your diet staples with water-wise alternatives, or try incorporating some of our recommended low-water seasonal recipes into your weekly meal plans. Check out our list of what’s in season and which foods require the least amount of water to produce.

Share your innovative diet ideas, water-wise fridge stocking, low-water footprint recipes, or your at-home cooking experiences with us by posting on Instagram with #drylab30daychallenge
